EXPLORE AFRICA - APPLY BELOW
Africa, my Africa! The mysterious continent with lost and hidden treasures, laying in front of us like an adventure waiting to happen.
In this place corruption brews in governments, injustice flows through the rifles of child soldiers and poverty strikes the poorest of poor.
Yet beauty abounds in it’s sprawling jungles, mighty desert dunes and raging rivers; is evident in the eyes of the humble farmer, the joyful singing of the women and the innocent actions of the local.
Come with us on a journey that explores the richness and sadness of a continent. It’s time to Explore Africa!
ROUTE AND DATES
This year the team will start off on the tropical island of Zanzibar! From there they will fly to Egypt to visit the Coptic Church and the jewel next to the Red Sea: Dahab. Next they will travel to Tunisia for their Luke 10 and then shoot across the Atlas mountains to the mysterious country of Morocco. Morocco offers ancient walled cities with labyrinth like streets and a rich culture.
Then they will throw themselves into the the completely unique culture of West Africa. After making a quick stop in Ghana they will travel through Burkina Faso to one of the poorest countries in the world, laying stretched out across the Sahara desert, Niger. Here the team will meet with nomadic tribes like the Fulani, trekking with their camels from well to well across the empty desert.
After Niger the team will travel to Ethiopia. Here they will be the first EA team to discover the cultural riches in the north of the country when they explore the churches hewn from the rock. Thereafter they will head south into the heartland of Ethiopia just a stones throw from the Sudan where they will meet up of unreached tribes.
Next they will head down across the Gobi desert back into East Africa to reach Kenya and this will bring them to the Victoria loop. From Kenya they will travel around lake Victoria through countries like Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda from where they will head to the finish line: Nairobi. Where their plane will be waiting to take them home!
THE VISION
- Through travelling we aim to deposit a life changing element in the leaders on the journey.
- Through learning to lead as Jesus did, by serving, we hope to become more like Him.
- Through gathering people in simple churches we hope to create a wave of transformation across the continent.
- Through seeing the needs of the people we hope to serve them as best as we could.
In partnership with the Leadership Experience and All Nations we believe we could rise to the above challenges.
