GLOBAL CHALLENGE EXPEDITIONS

The need to risk, live on the edge and do crazy stuff comes with the package of being 20 something. GCEX is a Christian Youth ministry that taps into the energy, the natural need to know, explore, and experiment. A vessel or a wine skin is provided for God to fill. This is the opportunity to do the extreme or extraordinary before the dreaded cookie cutter mould to conform and settle down gets a hold. Crazy, yes, but godly. The inherent travel bug is exploited. Here a new generation called by God, get equipped, learn to reflect on what’s really meaningful in life. A time to grow in loving the Lord, being solid, and building character to become leadership material in the Master’s style of servant hood. The learning takes place learning out in the open and on the go, experiential and far from the institutional lecture hall. They travel around the world and cross borders of about twenty different countries. The Lord is revealed in reality and not in theory. At the core of the entire exercise is the desire to know the Lord, a modern day pilgrimage.

Global Challenge X (GCX-One Year)

There are four modules for the journey. The first, a one year extreme trip, is focused on the 20 to 35’s. This is for the unsaturated to be stretched physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sleep in a tent in the snow, sit around a camp fire under the stars, trek over arid land. Teams and friendships are forged. Facing and feeling hardship, coming in contact with suffering mankind, and figuring out where God is in the picture. The challenge to my own walk with God, perspective on who I am while one day crying with the bereaved after natural disasters or war and the next day delighting in the spectacular of creation and creatures or to marvel at man’s greatest achievements. Around The World in 80 Days

The second journey, an 80-day around the world trek, has no age limit and the focus is on exposure and broadening your world. This is about the simplicity of loving the Lord and soaking in his love for you and to learn how and where to make a difference. Adjustments are made for those who cannot keep up the pace of the 20-odds. Read more

The Pilgrimage

The Pilgrimage is the third module. During six months of travelling a love, knowledge and understanding for the Word of God is cultivated. His truth will be tested in multiple cultural contexts and a person will leave with a sound foundation and a fresh and intimate experience of Jesus. Read more

Explore Africa

Africa, my Africa! The mysterious continent with lost and hidden treasures, laying in front of us like an adventure waiting to happen.
In this place corruption brews in governments, injustice flows through the rifles of child soldiers and poverty strikes the poorest of poor.
Yet beauty abounds in it’s sprawling jungles, mighty desert dunes and raging rivers; is evident in the eyes of the humble farmer, the joyful singing of the women and the innocent actions of the local.

Explore Africa aims to raise up sons and daughters of mother Africa to take their rightful place as humble servant leaders. Leaders that will face the challenges of Africa head on.
