Worship while we wait

Dawid van Aswegen

Many are aware of our tragedy, when one day before we had to leave on our journey, Dunette’s mother was in a terrible motorcycle accident, and even now still in a coma.  We were devastated; we cried, prayed and have been dealing with so many emotions.  However, as Christians we are not without hope.   Some say it is opposition from the evil one, others that it is just fatally random, and more that it is a test from God.

Be what it may, we still know that God does not waste suffering, but like burnt grass grows greener, we are confident that Gods will prevail, and that He remains good.

We were encouraged with James1:

“Count it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Romans 5 say that suffering produces perseverance that shapes character and ultimately hope.  We do not hope in a specific outcome or timing or in people.  Our hope is in Jesus, He is our ever present help in times of need.  He knows our hearts, He determines when the trial will end

God does not test us to find out what we are made of but rather to affirm what He has placed in us.

We want to persevere like Job, to break through our perceived betrayal barrier and experience God’s full compassion and mercy.

Murmuring only leaves one with a desire to have the pain to stop, and that stops all opportunity for growth.  But like a woman in labor, we pray that we will have the perseverance that will see us to the end and experience the new life that God brings.

While we wait we know God works and while we wait we will worship Him.

Until we are released to go.

His love never fails.

Ps. Many thanks for your prayers, support and love.  Especially Cornelie and Ann

I'm not a believer (can't remember if I told you that back in Athens), but reading about the deepness of your faith is really amazing.

It's not a matter of believing or not, to me: I think that love, as the effort someone puts in what he think is Right, is the most important thing in our life.
No matter if it comes from faith or other sources. It's outstanding however you see it.

I hope the best for you, and your family, as I think you really deserve it.

Sincerely,
Alessandro

Stay strong friends,

His words and promises will not return to Him void.

We'll keep on praying. Broken and vulnerable worship is the best worship.
